Monday Blues With A Lil Plaid Too...

Happy Shoesday Tuesday lovas. Yesterday was a chilly day in the citayyy and I am so over this weather. I am so ready for some dresses, skirts, and sandals I don't know what to do with myself. In the interim, however, I kept it cute with a blue on blue look for the day donning my Stan Smith Adidas, GAP jeans, Old Navy Jean Jacket and Uniqlo Navy Blue Turtleneck.

Of course I needed to add a pop of color so I threw on my Uniqlo red plaid overcoat and my grey Westerlind hat to top the look off. It was the perfect combination for this ridiculous in between weather moment we are having. But dahlings, spring has most certainly sprung and we are here for it!!

Great on the Great - MJ Inspired on BIG Bday

Though I look like I am not having it {I was giving face hunty}, I was full of JOY yesterday as it was the first of many warm and sunny days to come. I didn't want to get too excited and freeze my ass off in the evening so I layered up, grabber my trusty motorcycle jacket, opened up my new Yves Saint Laurent clogs, threw on my red socks for a pop of color and was on my merry way.

What I didn't realize is that I was serving up some Mike J. for the gawds! It was fab if I dusse so myself. Welp kids be on the look out for more of my getups. I'm gonna try this 'personal style' blog thing out while I continue to bring you shoe-worthy news.

And lastly, we love the spring and summer. It's always great and unbeatable energy in NYC.

Run It Back

Hola mi gente. It's been a minute I know. The last time we had a Shoe Files moment, I was living in Lala Land. Though I loved it, my time was up and I returned to my stomping grounds of NYC. Something great came out of that experience and I hope to be sharing it very soon.

Some tangible lessons - Fear not! Just do and respond to your vibration with the universe. Move as God tells you to. Everything will be alright.

With all of that said, we are back in full effect. Shoe Files is slated to become a regularly updated feature to the site that I hope you will enjoy. In the mean time and in between time, check out my wears and links on where to buy similar styles.

On Tuesday I had the pleasure of accompanying a very dear friend of mine to her DJ set of the REVOLT Live show at the Highland in Hollywood. It was a great experience and super fun. Of course I had to ensure I donned a relaxing yet chic look. I decided to go for unbothered-rockstar which meant, wild hair, red lipstick, ripped denim of some sort and boots.

The Look: Jacket: GAP; Tank Top: GAP; Pants: GAP - honestly the GAP should cut me a check! Shoes: Chloe heeled motocycle boots

And finally, OSCAR week arrived and all my ladies from ESSENCE magazine were in town for the illustrious Black Women in Hollywood event. On my way out to meet up with the homie, I needed to make some adjustments to my attire. I purchased these lovely sandals at a sample sale and the zipper on the left foot had the nerve to get stuck. Welp, I got some scissors and went to town on them heauxs creating a 'new' sandal.

Spending Ereythang on Alexander Wang

As I've said before, if you missed the Alexander Wang x HM collabo, you phucked up! LOL. Wednesday was hella cold and this neoprene crop top was just the thing I needed. I usually decide what I am wearing on my feet, hence the name of my site From The Bottom Up!, the night before I need to head out somewhere - work, play, strip club whatever - its always feet first.

I was stumped the night before this look, as what I intended to wear on my feet, I don't own which, is a cute pair of stacked heeled booties (if you have any suggestions, shoot me a note at ftbup7@gmail.com).

In any event, I remembered my precious Wang crop top and built my outfit from the bottom down that morning. And tada, here you have it.

The Look: Boots: Stuart Weitzman Studded Boots; Top 1: Alexander Wang X HM crop top; Top 2: GAP Button down; Denim: GAP Legging Jeans (mama needs all the stretch she can get)

Daddy, Pom Pom's, & Kicks

Hey lovas! How goes it? Yesterday's fit is already going down in the books as one of my favs! I decided to kick-it-out and rock my brand new Nike Air Raids and built my entire outfit around them. I wanted to pay homage to my father and decided tapping into my tomboy-chicness was the right thing to do. Yesterday marked 2 years since he had passed away and I was missing him and always miss him tremendously.

To my surprise, however, it was the best day I had had all week! So enough with the ying yang. Check out these fun flicks, get into this look and learn where me and my kicks have been, so far!

Top: The best shop for basics. Uniqlo.

Leather Moto Jacket: This is one of my favorite jackets. Also seen in my previous Shoe Files post. You can own it or something close to it check here, Schott or Macys .

Sweatpants: I love a great pair of sweats and there was absolutely no way I could walk past these stylized pair on one of my jaunts to the GAP. These are from the GAP x GQ, but they still have some great sweats in-store.

Kicks: I've said before and I'll say it again, I'm a tomboy at heart. I was the chick who guys envied because my sneaker collection was better than theirs. Whether it was a new pair of Jordan's or Airmax's I probably owned it. These Nike Air Raids are the newest edition to my kicks closet - and yes I have a closet that houses only my sneakers! Find them here.

Bag: Spending ereyythang on Alexander Wang! Nothing much to say here except, if you didn't make it your business to even try and hit up the Alexander Wang x H&M debut, you failed. Find a great bucket bag here.

The Switch Up Queen

Hey lovas, how's it going? Missed ya mucho! Welcome to the first installation (I <3 this word) of Shoe Files. I'll be sharing quick snapshots of all my favorite 'stomp and shout' worthy looks, keeping a 'file' of my fav shoes and 'tracking' where my shoes have been.

I've been going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to launch this feature on the site. See, I don't want this to be your typical style blog. My passion is in really telling the story of others that love shoes just as much as I do. BUT then I thought, why would you listen to me if you don't even have a chance to enter my own closet?!?! *Light Bulb Moment* Welp the wait is over dolls and dames. I caved!
