Are you a Shoe-Snob?

Philly girl Kenyatta Whitfield is the bubbliest, boldest, and most audacious feline I have come across to date – and over the phone no less! Ms. Whitfield is the Merchandising Manager {and owner and operator} of up and coming shoe retail site, Shoe-Snobs. Launched from a place of passion and vigor, Shoe-Snobs is an online destination that gives emerging designers an opportunity to shine and includes a philanthropic twist - almost all brands featured on the site support worldly causes.

Well how did it begin? After going through a divorce and the loss of her job all at the same time, Ms. Whitfield took matters into her own hands after a quick jaunt into a shoe boutique where she purchased a pair of pink Rachel Roy pumps. Giving her just the push she needed, she began taking entrepreneurial classes and workshops at the Small Business Women's Development Center. Desiring to live life on her own terms, Shoe-Snobs was almost immediately launched.

Not even a year old, the site carries a few brands including, Taylor Says – a women owned and operated American designed shoe brand featuring customized artwork on the heels, OkaB - a 100% recyclable, machine washable shoe, and Roma – a rain boot company based in Dallas that donates a pair of shoes to children in need for every pair sold.

Over the next few years you can expect to see designer brands, a traveling shoe boutique, and the further evolution of Shoe-Snobs with a Conscious, which has already donated hundreds of female personal care items to homeless women in Philadelphia.

Here's a sneak peek of whats available for purchase on the site.

Enjoy lovas and support small business!

Taylor Says, Oka-B, & Roma - considering spring is right around the corner, you might want to take a look and cop a new pair of rainboots! To see more, head to shoe-snobs.com. You'll find heel accessories there too!

Op-Ed: The Heel Never Left

So yesterday I read a piece on Vogue.com about the resurgence of the heel for Fall 2016, and it made me beg the question - well did the heel ever leave? With the rise in acceptance of 'sneakers as fashion statement', which for most of us wasn't a new phenomenon even as its popularity climbed the fashion charts, I can see where this sentiment stemmed from.

But ladies and gents, lets be real, heels serve confidence, class and in some instances, sex, depending on your agenda. Every collection since the dawn of man in fashion has included heels to some degree.

Flats, Skater Sneakers, Nikes, Adidas, and Pumas have popped up off and on the runways for the past 2 years, but the heel, the heel has remained the epicenter of style. And every true fashionista knows it.

Check out some of my fav heels from past and present for proof and name that shoe!

P.S. A flat slipped in because they're just great!

P.P.S. It slipped in because I do love a good flat though, really and truly.

Snowmaggedon 2016 really had people tripping this past weekend! And I will admit, I yearned for Summer for about 20 minutes, but that's only because I was traversing the web doing what I do best, looking for shoes! In my quest, I stumbled upon Vic Matie. I've known about this italian brand for a bit now {they've been on the scene since 1987}, however, they fell off of my radar until now!

These sandals are, as my mother would say, 'rough and ready.' They remind me of Marni sandals from seasons past and they are on my summer shoe hit list. Check out the site and see what you can find. Vic Matie.

Shoe Damage: $480

P.S. They are currently running a 40% promotion - get in there ladies!

Shoe of the day: Aquazzura Rainbow Sandal

Seriously these are not fair! Aquazzura has completely outdone himself this resort season. The primary color palette is refreshing, chic, visually stunning, and subtly sexy. I've had my good eye on these bad boys since November. I promised myself I wouldn't buy any thing in 2016 - personal challenge - but mama has no idea if she can resist!

Snag 'em at Bergdorf Goodman.
