Fall Finale

Hey kids, welp NYFW has come to a grand close. With Marc Jacobs closing up and showing out, the shows were certainly ones to remember. In the final days of shoemania, designers remained true to the form, function and opulence we reported on earlier this week.

Grab your cup of joe, a blanket, and your laptop and get into the rest of what designers had to say this week.

We're closing out with Coach, Cushnie et Ochs, Derek Lam, Delpozo (which is freaking phenomenal every season; there is a dress in the gallery that was too damn good to leave out), Hood by Air, Tommy Hilfiger, Kate Space, Christian Siriano, Tibi, Proenza Schouler and Marc Jacobs (who btw I have no idea how anyone is going to walk in those platforms, but they were so good!).

Check back next week for whats going on across the pond.

Ciao bellas.

So Far For Fall...

Before NYFW comes to an end and we refocus on the must-haves for Spring, we're going to get all the way into how Fall 2016 is taking shape. The catch phrase of the week is opulence and Fall'16 is that and so much more.

Not just in textures and detailing like, crushed velvet, huge studs, and luxurious leathers, but the overall mood and energy shouts quality over quantity and elegance. The shoe selection is one of sex appeal, playfulness, and form and function. I'm talking lace-up ruffle pumps as seen at Rodarte to front zip combat boots at Rag & Bone to completely studded out sandals at Alexander Wang, listen honey no one came here to play, everyone is showing out!

The selection was so good, I had to pull tooth and heel to decide which images to use, but these pretty much sum it up. Ladies and gents jaw dropping, statement fashion is back - so what will your shoes say about you?

P.S. Don't judge me if you see me checking for coins, swinging from poles, or doing the basketball teams homework; mama has got to get a few pair.

Are you a Shoe-Snob?

Philly girl Kenyatta Whitfield is the bubbliest, boldest, and most audacious feline I have come across to date – and over the phone no less! Ms. Whitfield is the Merchandising Manager {and owner and operator} of up and coming shoe retail site, Shoe-Snobs. Launched from a place of passion and vigor, Shoe-Snobs is an online destination that gives emerging designers an opportunity to shine and includes a philanthropic twist - almost all brands featured on the site support worldly causes.

Well how did it begin? After going through a divorce and the loss of her job all at the same time, Ms. Whitfield took matters into her own hands after a quick jaunt into a shoe boutique where she purchased a pair of pink Rachel Roy pumps. Giving her just the push she needed, she began taking entrepreneurial classes and workshops at the Small Business Women's Development Center. Desiring to live life on her own terms, Shoe-Snobs was almost immediately launched.

Not even a year old, the site carries a few brands including, Taylor Says – a women owned and operated American designed shoe brand featuring customized artwork on the heels, OkaB - a 100% recyclable, machine washable shoe, and Roma – a rain boot company based in Dallas that donates a pair of shoes to children in need for every pair sold.

Over the next few years you can expect to see designer brands, a traveling shoe boutique, and the further evolution of Shoe-Snobs with a Conscious, which has already donated hundreds of female personal care items to homeless women in Philadelphia.

Here's a sneak peek of whats available for purchase on the site.

Enjoy lovas and support small business!

Taylor Says, Oka-B, & Roma - considering spring is right around the corner, you might want to take a look and cop a new pair of rainboots! To see more, head to shoe-snobs.com. You'll find heel accessories there too!
