Flat Out Fabulous

Hey lovas, I hope you all had a marvelous holiday weekend. I know I sure did! It was a much needed break and I kicked my feet up in Philly at the infamous Made In America Music Festival. Aside from the washout on Sunday, it was a pretty fun time. Now it's back to business and shoes!

Kicking off this week is the underrated flat. I mean I love a good heel. In fact, unless I am purchasing sandals for summer or ballet flats to kick around on the weekend, I have to admit that I've overpassed this style on more than one occasion.

To my dismay, but I'm sure beknownst to the rest of the shoe-addicts in the world, flats don't have to be seen as just a 'break' from those sky high Tom Ford's, Brian Atwood's or Louboutin pumps - no, no, no - flats can be the anchor to the chicest looks. Darling, flats don't have to fall flat!

Refresh an outfit or create an entirely new look, my Flat Out Fabulous how-to guide will have you running to the nearest retailer for purchase.

ROCKER CHIC

Rock these studded flats with a white t, boyfriend jeans and a motorcycle jacket. Add a couple pieces of jewelry, a great bag and red lip and pow, you're ready for a night out with the girls or a dress down day at the office.

Find items here: Old Navy (t-shirt), Valentino Rockstudd Flats, Boyfriend JeansNars Heat Wave, Givenchy Rottweiler Tote, Saint Laurent Leather Motorcycle Jacket, Saint Laurent Studded Flats, Kelly Wearstler Necklace and Fenton Fallon stacked rings.

LEADING LADY

For the Jackie O in all of us, flats are not a new phenomenon, but update your look by checking for a metallic, ankle detail or super rich color. Keep it simple and chic with minimal jewelry, a nude lip and my favorite of all - gold ball stud earrings.

Find items (or similar items) here: Metallic Jimmy Choo Flats, Rebecca Minkoff Quilted Bag, Nicholas Kirkwood Orange flats, Gold Ball Stud Earrings, Stovepipe Pants, Pussybow Tie Button down, Make Up Forever Nude Lipstick, Cube Ring, Aquazzura Flats and Valentino Mini Dress.

SPORT NOUVEAUX

You can step out in style with the trend du jour of the season, kicks (check earlier post), without looking a mess. Pop on a red lip - this will take you a long way in any look, some jewels, leather backpack and a layered outfit and you're good to go! P.S. The layers make it easy for you to take this look from day to night AND the backpack is not only chic, but roomy enough for storing the items you've removed. Can I get holler for utility!

Find items (or similar) here: Jimmy Choo Suede Skater Slip On, Fenton Fallon Chain Bracelet, Phillip Lim Sweatshirt Dress, Chanel Leather Espadrilles, Fenton Fallon Chain Necklace, Army Green Vest, Leather Jogging Pants, McQ Alexander McQueen Leather Backpack, and Nars Heat Wave

STEPPIN' PREPPY

The preppy look has always called for flats. It's my favorite look for the weekend and can carry me from brunch to a date with the boo to drinks with my girls. Spice up it with, yes a red lip, some statement jewelry, or a denim dress to add fun and flare.

Find items (or similar) here: J. Crew Schoolboy Blazer, Boyfriend Jeans, Chain Link Chocker, Ferragamo Flats, Pave Gold Cuff, Coach Bag, White T, J. Crew Ballet Flats, Denim Dress and a poppin' red lip

Ciao bellas.

P.S. If you can't already tell, a red lip is my signature. I rock it with almost everything so pardon the bias. I promise to showcase other colors as I have 'em all, but a red lip is sheer perfection. Besos!

Shoe News: Eugenia Kim Launches Shoe Collection

Credit: Zimbio

Hey lovas, I have some shoetastic news to share with you this evening. Modern day milliner Eugenia Kim, has launched an eponymous 7 collection shoe line for the Fall 2014 season. No stranger to the audaciousness of accessories, Kim's line was inspired by the rocktastic era of the 70's, style icons like David Bowie, and surrealism amongst other things. The collection is the epitome of chic with a splash of fun and I'm loving every minute of it.

I can't wait to get my hands on what I'm calling furry fun - a pair of flats and pair of ankle strap pumps (check my obsession post) with a burst of fuzzy-wuzzy fur material on the front of the shoe.

Here are my top picks from the collection. You can visit www.eugeniakim.com for purchase.

She is called Babs and I love her.

She is called Daria and I love her even more. She's also available in a metallic rose gold.

She is called Lou and she's absolutely perfect for those crisp fall days. psstt...she features a rose gold and pear heel spur #jadore.

P.S. Eugenia Kim's hats and hair accessories are divine, she became uber popular after her infamous cat ear hats. I own her summer version of her Joey Cap. Here's a sneak peak of the next hat on my hit list (but in all honesty I just love and want them ALLL...yes tout suite!

Bette Hat - Barneys exclusive. Price tag: $440

Biggest Trend For Fall....Chic Sneaks

Sneakers, Kicks, Gym Shoes, Tennis Shoes et al will be the shoe du jour on every fashionistas wishlist this fall. Over the past year we've seen the insurgence of the wedge sneaker, Isabel Marant, Nike and Adidas anyone? But this season, we kick into high gear with designers adding stylish sneakers, whether they be slip-ons or high-tops, to their already fierce fashion collections.

Being a sneakerhead myself - I was the girl with a new pair of Jordans on every week - I've always incorporated kicks into my wardrobe. I'm a true tomboy at heart so this paradigm shift is much appreciated.

The fun thing is, you can pair your chic sneaks with skirts, dresses, stovepipe pants or however you like, just don't be left in the dust! With that said, check out my top picks for the season. I promise you'll be ready to hit the pavement as if your name was Jackie Joyner Kersee!

Maison Martin Margiela Mirror Sneakers - make a lasting impression and step out in style!

Gotta love Miu Miu. These slip-ons are top on my list. They come in a myriad of styles ranging from studds to printed patent leather.

Giuseppe Zanotti Design. Sheer perfection. The gold buckles, the side clasp, the zippers it doesn't get any better than this when it comes to detail. I'd rock these with leather pants and a white tshirt.

Nike High-tops. Classic, simple and chic - check. The clean lines and solid color make these safe to play around with. I'd be daring and rock 'em to a black-tie affair and let these babies peak out from underneath a fabulous ballgown.

Balenciaga Alligator print sneakers are great for work and play. Pair with a pencil skirt and crop top or Canadian Tuxedo to stand out.

Riccardo Tisci Nike. Not new for fall and on every fashionista list and probably already in their closets are these. All I can say is, I need 'em, I want 'em, I gotta have 'em!

Happy shoepping gyals and as always click the images to purchase!
